The Project
Trumpington Meadows Land Company (TMLC) is a partnership between Grosvenor, a property company with over 300 years of experience, and Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS), one of the UK's largest pension funds. Both are committed to delivering progressive and high quality urban design solutions, which are sensitive to the local community and environment.
Grosvenor is a privately owned property group with offices in 19 of the world's most dynamic cities. Grosvenor is a world-leading developer of luxury residential property with a proud English heritage – and our work has been integral to several recent developments in 21st century Cambridge. Our extensive knowledge of Cambridge is based on 25 years experience in the city, and we continue to be strongly committed to its long-term development. Most recently, Grosvenor has developed Grand Arcade, a premium shopping destination in the heart of Cambridge that provides the city with top-class facilities.
USS is one of the UK's largest private pension schemes, with assets of over £40 billion. The majority of assets are managed in-house by USS Investment Management, a wholly-owned subsidiary of USS.
USS is a long-term investor in property, with a portfolio valued at approximately £2.7bn. Mainly located in the UK, the portfolio comprises both direct and indirect assets spread principally across the retail, offices and industrial market sectors.
USS has extensive experience of developing, enhancing and managing significant mixed use assets located in urban centres across the UK.
In 2010 TMLC signed an agreement to give Barratt Homes exclusive rights for residential development on the Trumpington Meadows site. Barratt plans to build 1200 new homes in a phased development programme over five years.
Helping build the future of Cambridge
With a community already taking shape, Trumpington Meadows is set to become one of the key residential development locations in the Cambridge area, delivering the new homes the city needs to support its future growth. 40% of the homes at Trumpington Meadows will be 'affordable' and delivered by Cambridge Partnerships who were appointed by the former Housing Corporation (now the Homes and Communities Agency) to deliver the Cambridge Challenge.
